Part Seven: Heartbeats Racing Through Time

The bright sunlight shone in Stephanie's closed eyelids. She grunted as she felt a sharp pain in her stomach. She got out of the bed, squinting her eyes, she stumbled on the pillow that still laid on the ground. She stumble into the bathroom to make a leak when she noticed the blood stained underwear and sleeping pants "Kat, do you have pads?" Stephanie asked, clutching onto her stomach. Kathleen was putting on a new bra on, "Um, yeah. It's in the medicine cabinet. Are you having your period?" Kathleen asked, pulling up her bra straps. "Yeah, it's March anyways" Stephanie stated, walking back into the bathroom closing the door behind her. Ellie suddenly awoke on Jacob's chest, with her legs bumping against his thighs. Her lips felt dry and she felt warm under the covers, with him. She shimmed out of Jacob's grasp and climbed on top of him. "Wake up Jacob" Ellie said, whispering in his head. He smiled and his blinked his eyes a few times trying to retain the sunlight from his eyes. He stood in the same spot not moving at all, thinking he was going to get it. Ellie bite her lower lip and press her lips into his. She pulled away and beamed down at him, playing with his curls. He smiled back at her, her brown eyes glowing as they silently show affection of love for each other. Jacob pinned Ellie down onto the bed and he was on top of her. "Jacob, what are you doing?" Ellie asked, with a playful smile plastered onto her face. "Can't a guy make love with his girlfriend?" "Oh, so now I'm your girlfriend?" "You were always my girlfriend, Ellie" Jacob kept on kissing her more. He pulled away, "Ellie, I just realize we haven't talk about me being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes" Jacob pointed out. "I don't want to talk, can we just make out more. I'm tired with all this talking, that is all we ever do talk, talk, talk" "Ellie, you're stalling. Why don't you want to talk about this? What if we're ready to do it and then you start to feel uncomfortable?" Jacob stated, sliding off her body. "Because I just want us to have a good a relationship, that is all I wanted" Ellie frowned. She got out from under the covers and sat at the edge of the bed, swinging her legs. "How are we going to have a good relationship when we can't even talk something so serious, when all you have on your mind is making out and just losing your virginity!" Jacob exclaimed. "I don't care about that Jacob! I just don't to want here it because. . . . .because I'm afraid you'll die. If I was only thinking about that, we would have been done it right there and then. Now I feel like I want to die" Ellie cried.

Kathleen and Stephanie's ears were pressed onto the door hearing the heated argument, they both gawked at each other, surprised about what they're hearing. "I didn't know Ellie was planning to lose her virginity at 13, wow, everyone is growing up so quick" Stephanie stated, stuffing her syrupy pancake into her plush cat-like mouth. The two were sitting at the dining table having a private conversation about what just happened. "She must be crying by now. I mean, Ellie" Kathleen said, poking her scrambled eggs with a fork as if they weren't properly cooked. "She is so not crying about that foolishness, she is doing it. You've got to use your smarts, Kat. I mean, you do all the populars project in school, so use that smarts you learned in chemistry class, add a bit of romance potion, and BAM! You've got your very own protege romance" Stephanie said, in a perfect French accent.

Ellie was still standing in the same wiping her tears away. "I'm sorry for getting upset Ellie. I should have considered about how you really felt about the whole situation" Jacob apologized. Jacob hugged Ellie tightly and kissed her head. "I love you" Jacob whispered. "I love you, too. Don't break my heart like that again" Ellie said, looking into Jacob's eyes. Ellie was released from his hug and she got ready, heading down the stairs to eat breakfast. Stephanie had a smirk on her face "So. What were you and Jacob were doing upstairs in that king size bed, all alone in the room?" Stephanie asked. "We weren't do anything really. He was saying he was sorry for what he has done" Ellie explained, sprinkling pepper and salt on her boiled eggs. "Hey, just don't worry about the whole Type 1 diabetes thing. He just dealing with using the OmniPod and everything. Besides, he said he needs someone to relief the burden in his hand, if you know what I mean" Kathleen said, staring misty eyed at the kids who were playing street football. Kathleen and Ellie were looking out the window just keeping things around the house in balanced, Stephanie was flipping through the channels in the living room while Jacob was still in the room doing something.

Ellie went upstairs, and into the guest room. Jacob was sitting on the bed, with candles lighted and the lights were turned off. The sun was beginning to set, but the candles glowed dimly in the semi-darkness. Jacob looked up at her, in his hands was the OmniPod, he was biting down on his thumb nail. "How is it?" Ellie asked, closing the door behind her. "Uh, it's okay. It's not above the limit or anything, perhaps" He responded, looking down at the reading. "What is up with the lighted candles and everything? Is this how you do the thing?" Ellie asked. "No, not really. I was kind of hoping you wouldn't come upstairs early, I was planning a way to apologize. And I thought that maybe it was time to . . . . . .you know, do it" He said, looking up at her nervously. Ellie didn't have a response, but he could clearly see that she was pretty much unsure, nearly about everything, but he wants her to change her mind. He needs to change her mind. "Ellie, I need to talk you about something, and it's not really a big important issue or anything I just need to tell you still," Jacob continued. "Okay, here I go. Ellie, I'm ready to do it, with you okay? And I need you to understand that I'm in love with you, and I believe we can take it to another level, it's not like you've only met me four days ago. Ellie, I just want you to know that I'm in love with you and wouldn't do this just because I wanted it". "Jacob, you didn't need to do any of that. I was already ready Jacob. Plus, I know you already love me" Ellie said, smiling. They door was locked and all you can hear was heavy breathing and the sound of a bed creaking in the distance.
E-Mail Conversation:
KittyKat: Spill the beans Ellie! What happen in that room between you and Jacob?
Miss.StephanieCornell: Yes spill it, spill it like hot chocolate on a brand new Stephen McQueen leather purse.
KittyKat: How did you signed in?
Miss.StephanieCornell: I have another laptop, aren't I right beside you?
KittyKat: Oops. I'm kind of farsighted from the right.
EllieChic: You guys are so nosy! Luckily, Jacob is in the shower and this is the first time I ever seen him so red when he saw me. I mean literally, I accidentally kicked when I was stretching and when he woke up he just turned red. I guess it was that good.
KittyKat: You guys did it?(!) I can't believe my two best friends in the entire world actually slept together on a king size bed and ended up doing it!
Miss.StephanieCornell: You can totally tell that Kat is missing out on the finer things in life, like these things Ellie and I have already done.
EllieChic: You need a boy, Kat. Maybe even a girl?
Miss.StephanieCornell: Agree
KittyKat: You really think so? I mean, that if I'm a lesbian.

KittyKat: Punks!

"That was amazing" Jacob said, coming into the room. He had his white towel wrapped around his waist and his curls turned into his straight long hair. Ellie got up from the bed and went into the bathroom, "Why are you even talking about it? Personal thoughts always remains as personal thoughts" Ellie responded, taking out the brush from the cabinet. "Not with my girlfriend it is" Jacob said, in a weird voice. Ellie watched him put on a pair on boxers and smiled to herself, "Were you watching me?" Jacob asked, bursting through the bathroom and grabbing the floss. His hair was getting re-curled again as it began to dry. "No, I wasn't watching you at all. I saw enough of you already" Ellie teased. She grab up her blazer and went downstairs where Stephanie and Kathleen were waiting already whispering quietly to each other. Kathleen was the first to gawk at Ellie "I can't believe you did that! You're so naughty," Kathleen said, hitting her playfully with her hat. "I bet Jacob was asking for more" She winked at Stephanie who giggled. "At least were not the ones who still have there's"Stephanie teased, standing beside Ellie. "But Ellie broke her purity ring" Kathleen stated. "If I can break my purity ring, then you can too" Ellie stated. Jacob came down the stairs happily and kissed Ellie on her cheek. "Um, he looks a bit to perky today" Stephanie whispered. "Maybe it was because of all that work make him felt perky enough or maybe it was the pleasure that came along with it" Kathleen whispered back. The two began to giggle and soon they were heading out for dinner.

Part Six: Get Me Out of Rehab

Ellie, Jacob and Kathleen waited anxiously for the public bus. Jacob was trying to Ellie something that was important but he couldn't get it out, it wasn't the time, it was the time for crisis at hand. When the bus finally came, they paid the fee and jumped on. "Why was Stephanie in rehab? She never told me she had a problem, I was her friend" Kathleen said, looking hurt and confused. Ellie was staring out the window watching the reflection of the seriousness in Jacob's face. Jacob looked across at Ellie who was sitting quietly next to Kathleen who was mumbling under her breath. He took out his phone and began to text message her.

Jacob: Are you okay? You look kind of unhappy or some unworthy feeling.
Ellie: Yeah. I'm just kind of realizing what is happening. I mean with Stephanie in rehab and then our sudden relationship and all, it's all really confusing. I feel like I'm losing myself. Jacob, have I change since I came back from camp?
Jacob: You're still the same Ellie I've known, you haven't change one bit, yet. Plus, I know how you feel too, it must be all like a dream, a dream you which you could wake up from immediately but somehow it feel as if someone put glue in your eyelids to keep it shut and for you to stay in that dream to see what happens in the end.
Ellie: You know me so well. When you explain my thoughts it's like rhythmic poem, it makes my heart melt.
Jacob: My mom tells me that I got the quality from my dad, I wish he could see me now. He always liked you, somehow he always knew I liked you but I waited. The last words he told me before he set foot into that car was: "It's good to wait because good things come along the way. Jacob, I want you to remember this for the rest of your life: 'You can chain me, you can torture me, you can even destroy this body, but you will never imprison my mind.'"
Ellie: Your dad was good man Jacob, sometimes when I look at you, I see him hidden beneath you and sometimes he shines out to me every once in a while. My uncle was the only person I got along with in my family, we were like brother and sister. He would share secrets with me, I'll share secrets with him. When he moved to France with his unruly fiancee, he gave me a present, it was a saying that he never shared with anyone before, ever since my grandfather died. "Live like you're at the bottom, when you're at the top". He was the one who influenced me, maybe that is just why my mother doesn't care for me.
Jacob: Don't say that Ellie, your mother do care for you. If she didn't you wouldn't have a bed to sleep in, you wouldn't have a place to belong. Anyways, we're here. Let's go.

Stephanie stood underneath the dim round streetlight. She had nothing except the little piece of clothing that clung onto her body. Her eyes seemed as if they've been deepened into her eye sockets and looked like the bride in the Corpse Bride. Kathleen ran up to her and hugged her tightly, hot tears ripping down her cheeks. Stephanie closed her wide eyes and not crying at all. Ellie and Jacob stood next to each other not ruining their moment, instead the silently watch them. Kathleen released from the hug and looked at the sickly looking Stephanie Cornell, who looked stressed out and her dark curls space out unevenly. "Stephanie, why are you in rehab?" Kathleen suddenly asked. They were walking towards the near bus stop. "I was having an alcohol problem. I was stressed out and I just decided to pick up the bottle, I was tempted so I picked it up and when it went down my throat it tasted bitter but I still continued. I ended up walking going into my room sending everyone that dirty gossip, then I escape outside from my window. I stole the car keys and drove to the nearest liquor store, I drove to the party where I had more alcohol I ended up in the bed with my best guy friend. W-we were both naked, and the bottle of alcohol lay beside me." Stephanie recalled, staring out into the distance. She had a blank expression on her face like nothing was going on around her. "I just needed help. But they said I still need more help" She continued.

Kathleen was astonished as she sat on the bench, her mind was blank and no words couldn't come to mind. Ellie had nothing to say either, but she wasn't so surprise about Stephanie's "big surprise" about her non-perfect life. Jacob, however, had the important thing he wanted to tell Ellie on his mind, he was only half listening to what Stephanie was saying. On the bus ride to Kathleen's house, everyone was quiet.

Ellie was in the third guest room packing her clothes away into the dresser, she had stay at Kathleen's house for a couple of days. Jacob came into the room and closed the door behind him. "We need to talk, well, maybe in the end it won't be so much talking" Jacob said. "What is it?" She asked, now facing him. "I think we should go to the next level . . . . .I'm ready" He confessed, wrapping his arms around her waist. "Ready for what?. . . . .oh, you mean that, boy you move on fast" She said. Jacob leaned in, kissing her. Kathleen was setting up the bed for Stephanie who was brushing her teeth in the bathroom. "So where are going to stay" Kathleen asked, standing the doorway of the bathroom. Stephanie spat the white foam down the drain and stared at Kathleen "I'll need to stay here, until I find someone in my family to take me in, until social services bring my mom into a rehab centre" Stephanie said, deadly. She began brushing her teeth her again, Kathleen walked passed the guest room, she heard noises. She opened the door and saw the light turned off but everything was silent again. She turned on the light and see the covers mess up and bulky, goes up to the covers and pulls it back and found Ellie and Jacob laying besides each other while Jacob had his shirt off. Kathleen turned off the light and closed the door behind her.

"That was close, now where were we" Jacob said, his fingers crawling up to her chest. "I think we might as well just go to sleep, I mean Kat just walked in on us luckily we didn't take everything off" Ellie stated, pushing his fingers off. "Maybe another time, when it is right" Jacob said. Stephanie lay down in Kathleen's bed, she never felt so comfortable in a bed before, she was always tense mainly because she was afraid her mother would come into her room and begin to beat upon her. Kathleen watched the ceiling as she thought about her parents for the first time, she never knew why she hadn't come out to her friends that her parents died and that they were sleeping in that locked room. Her guardian was living in the basement she cooks and cares for Kathleen but never comes up one people are around but somehow when everyone is asleep, she cooks breakfast to make it seem like her parents cook breakfast before they left. Ellie and Jacob were both thinking about love, Ellie put her head against his chest and he was stroking her hair. Everyone in the house had separate things on their minds, but they didn't know they're going to face things they never wanted to face in their life.

Part Five: Not a True Friend After All

Ellie ran up the steps and rang the doorbell with excitement rushing through her body as if she had just ate a dozen of chocolate bars today. Kathleen heart was beating faster then ever as she heard the doorbell rang in her eardrums. Her mind was going crazy with wild thoughts. She heard Ellie screaming through the thick door "Kat, you don't have to dress up just because I came back from camp and you haven't seen me for at least two weeks". "Just get it over with, Kathleen. Yeah, that is it, just be strong and tell her I kissed Jacob, her crush. What are you thinking? Boy, I'm I stupid!" Kathleen said to herself. The doorbell rang again and Kathleen ran down the stairs. "Kat, what took you so long? I was so excited to see you and you wasted time trying to impress me! But you shouldn't have anyways" Ellie beamed. "Ellie. . . .I never seen you so happy before, it's kind of awkward" Kathleen said, stuttering. There was a long awkward silence as Kathleen gawked at Ellie without any verbal warnings at all, it seemed as if a cat threw up a hairball that she caught in her mouth and was no stuck in throat enable to talk at all. "Kat, can I come in? I thought you knew it was summer out here and it feels like 95 degrees" Ellie complained. "Y-yeah, sure you can go and you know set your self up or w-whatever the hell you do" Kathleen said, using her hands while talking looking like a business woman explaining her pie chart. Soon, a set of curly hair came bobbing up the stairs and Jacob's brown eyes sparkled with delight as he saw Ellie standing there in the front door wearing a cute denim mini skirt and her cute black and red plaid shirt, with her black permed hair out blowing the calming wind. Jacob cupped his hands over his mouth to see if his breath was stink and tugged on his t-shirt, he searched for anything reflective so he can shake up his curls a bit. Ellie saw the awkward expression plastered on Kathleen's face, Ellie turned around and saw Jacob peering down at the sliver small sprinkler ruffling his curls looking like a girl who is trying to see the volume of her hair after blow drying it.

Ellie began to giggled and Jacob turned a bit red as he watched Ellie giggle at him. "Hey Ellie, you look great" He said, hugging her. Kathleen stood in the background and had a evil sneer plastered on her face, "Yeah right, he doesn't give a damn about her. Just one of his escape words, he is probably dying to wrapped his arms around my waist and kiss me all day long then we go deep into the covers" Kathleen thought as she watched them hug and catch up on the things. "Well, I'm going to drop my stuff upstairs and then we can go out for brunch" Ellie stated, already going up the stairs. Kathleen and Jacob was alone together, once again. "So when are we going to tell her Kat?" Jacob asked. "Never, it will just be our secret" Kathleen said in a flirty voice. "I don't want it be our secret, I want to be with Ellie!" Jacob shouted, pushing Kathleen off of him. Ellie stood in the doorway, "What is your secret?" she asked. "Go ahead Jacob, you wanted to tell her. So here is your chance to tell her, the world is waiting to here it" Kathleen teased. Jacob licked his lips, "Ellie, while you were in camp Kat and I . . . . . .kissed each other on the lips but it was a unexpected kiss, it wasn't meant to happen, you know I love you Ellie I wouldn't break your heart like that," Jacob said, reaching for Ellie's hands. Ellie let him grab her hands and they were face to face. "Do you forgive me Ellie?" He asked, looking deep into her eyes. Ellie let out a heavy sigh and began tearing up, "I-I don't know Jacob, I just don't know" she held onto Jacob's hand for a while longer but she let go. He placed his hands around her waist and she wrapped her arms around his neck, he kissed her on her lips then began speaking to her in soft words, lower than a whisper. Kathleen watched in disgust her plan of making out with Jacob was foiled, but she just shrugged her shoulders and walked up the stairs.

KittyKat: You won't believe what that jerk just did to me!
[Miss.StephanieCornell logs on]
Miss.StephanieCornell: What happen? I want all the details and don't worry I have my Sidekick LX by my side to spread dirty gossip!

KittyKat: Who said we're going to spread dirty gossip about them?
Miss.StephanieCornell: You said I won't believe what that jerk did to you and once you say "You won't believe. . . ." then its my duty to, basically, dish out dirty gossip. Hello, I'm Stephanie Cornell the most popular high school scholar.
KittyKat: Whatever you say. So, Ellie came back from camp and when Jacob came and she finally went away. I was trying to get him to at least make out with me and try to keep our secret just between us, but he said he doesn't want to and Ellie came back again. Then Jacob finally confessed to her and she said she didn't know if she could forgive him but when he wrapped his arms around her waist and she wrapped her arms around his neck, he began to passionately kissing her. Icky, I feel gross just talking about, the more I talk about it the more my over imaginative mind see them doing something more than kissing. . . .
Miss.StephanieCornell: Kat, EW! You don't have to tell me your personal thoughts or images, that is why we have personal thoughts!
KittyKat: Sorry, but still I can't help but stop my imagination from overflowing.
Miss.StephanieCornell: Look at you Kathleen, do you think I really care about that crap that you are talking about?
KittyKat: Not really.
Miss.StephanieCornell: THEN SHUT THE HELL UP!!!!!!!

Kathleen began crying and walked out of her room, she walked to the guest room and saw Jacob and Ellie on top of each other making out on the bed. "Can't you guys get a room?" Kathleen asked, still crying. Ellie got off Jacob and pulled down her denim mini skirt which was uplifting a bit. "What's wrong Kat?" Ellie asked with empathy. Kathleen stared at her, "Ellie always looks so cute even if she is wearing Indian buckskin and he caramel colored skin is always smooth as porcelain and mine is always bumpy" Kathleen thought as she wiped her tears away. "It's nothing really, I'm just upset over a stupid friendship I guess you were right" Kathleen confessed. Jacob got off the bed and stood close behind Ellie with a confused look on his face. "What do you mean I was right? Right about what Kat?" Ellie questioned, looking at both Kathleen and Jacob. "When you told me that you hope Stephanie and I have a good life together, well, we aren't after all. She was just using me again, to pass on gossip about you guys" Kathleen confessed. "Kat, did you tell her about us?" Jacob asked. Kathleen looked down at her stubby toes and then look back up at them sheepishly. "Kat, you didn't tell that life sucker about our private relationship, then gave them all the dirty details?" Ellie said, looking like a deer caught in headlights. Kathleen bite her lower lip, "Um, yeah I kind of spilled the beans to her, at least you guys weren't doing what you were doing like 5 minutes ago right in front of me way before" Kathleen stated forcing a laugh. "Great, thanks a lot Kathleen! As soon as I come back from camp, I already have dirty gossip about me" Ellie complained, plopping down the bed. Kathleen stood there silently for a few more moments and walked back to you. Jacob walked over to Ellie, "I think I know what the best remedy" Jacob said, leaning to kiss Ellie. "Jacob, you're trying to kiss me when I'm completely stressed out about how I have dirty gossip spreading out through every electronic device!" Ellie exclaimed. Jacob put his arm around her shoulder and let her rest her head on his chest, soon they doze off on the bed still the same position.

Stephanie took the information that Kathleen gave to her and she scrolled down her contact list, sending the details to everyone. She put on her "Dream On Boy" pink t-shirt, black skinny jeans and a several different shades of pink blazer with black flats. Before leaving, she checked herself out in the mirror, then opened her window and crawled outside and down the garden ladder. She jump into the bushes, she stays low making sure her drunken mother doesn't see her. In the distance she can see the red Nissan gleaming under the street light. She went to the front door, lifts the welcome mat where the car keys are always hidden. She ran across the street and opened the car, the alarm sounded off and her mother come out of the house screaming and cursing coming her way. Stephanie tried to frantically open the door into the car, she finally jam the key into the keyhole and jumped into the car seat. She put the car in drive and she began to hear her mother bang against the trunk, she drove off. In the rear view mirror, she can see her mother lying faced down on the tar road. She breathed in deeply then released it into the air,she turned left and soon she disappered into the hill, only the leaking oil leaving a trail behind.

Part Four: The Bus Ride of Returning

Ellie boarded the bus with the other female campers as everyone headed back to New York. "Ellie, Ellie!" Joisah shouted after her. Ellie turned around and smiled, "i just wanted to say bye before I leave. I'm going to miss you Ellie" He said, hugging. Ellie didn't say anything but just smile. Her eyes twinkled as she watch him go to the other bus. She stepped inside the bus and sat alone on the bus. Only paying attention to her iPod nano and the music that was playing. She took out her laptop and she saw someone on her e-mailing list on already.

E-Mail Conversation:
DJJacob: I didn't know you were on. Are you still in camp?
EllieChic: Nope, I'm on the bus on my way home.
DJJacob: Your mom is picking you up or you are coming by Kat's house .
EllieChic: I'm coming back kat's house just to say hi to you. But for the rest of the summer I think I'm going to stay home and just catch up on things like try to like my mom's toothpaste boyfriend and get some lessons on how to find a true friend. This is going to be such an amazing summer! This year, I'm big on sarcasam.
DJJacob: I can clearly see that. So how's the relationship with the camper boy?
EllieChic: We broke up, but even though I told him he still kissed me. But we're just friends, and that is all we will ever be.
DJJacob: What was the reason?
EllieChic: There was someone else in the mix that I really like, that's all.
DJJacob: Look, Ellie, my mom took me to the doctor today because she said haven't been acting like myself and thought that there is probably something freaking me out. After the doctor ran a couple of tests and all, he came into the waiting and told my mother that I had Type 1 diabetes.
EllieChic: Here is more drama I have to go through when I come back home. Jacob, you know what when I come over to Kat's house we can probably go out to eat and just talk this over, is that okay with you?
DJJacob: Yeah, I'll see you later then.
[EllieChic logs off]
[DJJacob logs off]

Kathleen looked out the window from her bedroom as she watched the now empty cooling tent, haunting her in her dreams. She walked away from the window and looked at her plans for today on her calendar, the only thing that was written neatly with a thin pink sharpie pen was "Ellie is BACK!". Kathleen looked as if she was about to faint after the two whole weeks she've been through with the big friendship fight and the unexcepted kiss with Jacob and through it all her new "best friend" Stehpanie witness the kiss, and she just might have the nerve to tattle tale to Ellie. Then suddenly, a page appeared on the computer screen

E-Mail Conversation:
EllieChic: Hey Kat!
KittyKat: Oh, hey Ellie, are you still in camp?
EllieChic: Nope, but I really wish people could stop asking me that question. I just finished talking with my mom and she allowed me to see you and Jacob and she also brought me a purtiy ring too, after she heard what you mom, she said she put "nothing gold can stay" on it, one of my favorite poems. Parents, can't live with them, can't live without them.
KittyKat: Can't handle this any longer!!
EllieChic: What can't you hanlde any longer? You can tell me later when I come over to the house, I have to get off the bus.

Part Three: Color War Dreams & Locked Lips

"Apache and Cherokee, you can go to the dining hall!" Lenore exclaimed. The rain was pouring and there was a flood of colored ponchos and wet sweatshirts. Ellie trudged behind the single filed line only listening the small peebles vibrate under the soles as the walked down the curved road into the dining hall. Ellie sat with the three other kids and the counselor, David, who were waiting to say the evening prayers. "Stand up please to say the evening prayers" Lenore stated. As the said the evening prayers mouthed the words watching to see what the others were saying "Hardy appetite " Lenore said. Everyone sat on the wooden benches and waited for kitchen helpers to come out with tonight's dinner of meatloaf and mash potatoes. Ellie watched Joisah across at the other table next to her, he was already biting into the meatloaf and all the girls in the room was watching him eat and sighed heavily as he took another bite. The girls didn't care if Ellie was his girlfriend they can still capture his heart anyway, with any evil plan just to plung their realtionship into a toilet. After dinner, everyone remained in their seats and all eyes were on Lenore as she stood in the middle of the room. Night had already fallen and the crickets were chipping in the background. "Tonight, is Color War ," Lenore said, projecting her voice. Everyone in the room began bang on the tables and was roaring, Ellie could feel the antcipation as well as the chills running through her body as the cool air blew through the opened windows. "Alright settle down, now you guys will be split up as well as two bunks will be losing at least two of their campers, so when I read of each camper name of that bunk, clap two times" Lenore continued. After each camper name was read and the bunks were splitted up the groups went off on their own, Ellie was on team DC.
E-Mail Conversation:
EllieChic: Oh God, why can't the days just go by quickly?
KittyKat: Because I'm not God!
EllieChic: Did you lose your sense of sarcasm?
KittyKat: Actually, yes I did. You won't beileve what happened today?
EllieChic: What happened? Some ate all your low fat sugar cookies, AGAIN?
KittyKat: No! But you know that was my favorite cookies! Moving on, she brought me a purity ring.
EllieChic: So, what is your point? What do you want me to say? Congrats? Bon Voyage?
KittyKat: Ellie, don't you even know what a purity ring is?
EllieChic: Uh, sure I do! Alright, I don't know what it is, just please explain it to me so you can kill time with these concited girls.
KittyKat: I'll be glad to! To put this whole purity ring thing down, it's me, basically, keeping a promise to God that I would stay pure until I get married.
EllieChic: I wish you made that explaination a bit longer. Besides, didn't you get that definition from those guys you like, what's there name again, oh yeah those Jonas Brothers or JB whatever you call them.
[Miss.StephanieCornell logs on]
Miss.StpehanieCornell: Hey girls, what are you talking about?
EllieChic: Stephanie Cornell?
KittyKat: Oh, hey Steph. How's life going?
EllieChic: Kat, are you speaking to her?
Miss.StephanieCornell: I'm doing okay, thanks for asking!
EllieChic: Am I even here! Can anyone see that I'm talking here!
KittyKat: Sorry Ellie, Steph and I was just having our moments.
Miss.StephanieCornell: Yeah, sorry Ellie for making you feel like an outcast
EllieChic: WHO SAID I FEEL LIKE A FREAKING OUTCAST!!!!Listen her you
KittyKat: Watch it Ellie!
Miss.StpehanieCornell: Um, it seems like Little Miss. Temper Tantrum over there, is turning into jelly
EllieChic: I am not turning jealous!Or even into jelly! You're just using Kat, she's you're little decoy.
KittyKat: Shut up Ellie, because that is not ture! Stephanie said that she was sorry and that I wasn't her decoy, her friends pushed her into making me do all their work. So just shut the hell up Ellie, just shut up.
EllieChic: You know what Kat, I hope you and you're friend here have a good life together, but don't come back crying to me when things go wrong, because what you're saying to me seems like she is the type of friend who is always going to be there for you through thick and thin. Good luck in life Kathleen.

KittyKat: Does this mean we are through as friends?

"So you and Ellie aren't friends, huh?" Jacob asked, squniting eyes as he looked up at the sun. Jacob and Kathleen was in the cooling tent playing video games with the television blaring as Jacob layed across the ground staring out at the sun which was peeking through the tent. "I guess so, she hasn't e-mail me in 2 days" Kathleen stated. She was sitting in the corner, she brought her knees up to her chin and looked sadly at Jacob who looked as if he was in daydream mode. "She is so not your friend anymore, if I was her, I would've down the same thing. Minusing the curse words, I just wanted to say that" Jacob smiled, grabbing a can of RedBull. He turned off the video game and turned on the cable. "I guess I did deserved that after saying hell like two times" Kathleen said sulking. "Come on Kat, don't beat your self down like that you've got me" Jacob said, handing her a RedBull. "I know that, but your a guy, how can I talk about my boy problems, actually, my girl problems with a guy. You would be grossed out, I guarantee that 100%" Kathleen stated slowly drinking the cold RedBull. "You can picture me as a girl, only without breasts and some special organs" Jacob joked. Kathleen laughed at him and RedBull came out of her mouth, Jacob helped but to turn red when he saw the RedBull come out her mouth. "I'm sorry about that" "No, it's okay Kat, it's pretty much normal" He handed her a napkin, she looked up into his eyes. She saw something in his eyes and saw something she never saw before, the next thing she knew she had kissed Jacob on the lips and Stephanie came in as she looked in shock of what Jacob and Kathleen was doing. They quickly parted.
Ellie had no explaination of why she wanted a cigarette when she never smoken before, but somehow she still wanted one, regardless. She left her bunk and pretended as if she was going to the bathroom when she was really going to meet Joisah at the big rock tonight. The other counselors who were on duty didn't saw her hiding behind the big rock as she waited for Joisah to come. Soon she saw Joisah dodging passed the volleyball net and running towards Ellie. "Sorry I was late, my bunk counselor was questioning me about where I was going, and I got the nerve to confess to him and told that I was going to meet you out here" Joisah explained, out of breath. "Wow, that is amazing" Ellie said without any excitment. "Is something wrong?" "No, not really it's just that I'm missing someone at the moment" "It's your guy friend, isn't it?" "Yeah Josiah, it's him, I think I just might be in love with him, but I think he isn't in love with me" Ellie confessed, looking down at the ground. Joisah lifted her chin up and kissed her on the lips. "It's okay Ellie, I hope we can still be friends?" Joisah stated, parting away from her. "Yeah, we can still be friends. Goodnight Joisah" Ellie reonciled. He waved goodbye to her and dodged pass tthe counselor. Ellie went back to the bunk where she saw the girls sucrried back to their beds, "I'm sorry what happen between you and Joisah, but tell me how was it like when Joisah kiss you?" one of girls aksed. "Yeah what was it like ?" the girls whispered in unison. "It was like fairy tale, like a prince sweeping you off your feet at a random moment" Ellie said sleeply. Shortly after Ellie was sound asleep, with the girls still whispering about how it would be like if Joisah kiss them.

Part Two: Summer Dreams Dwell Upon Me

Ellie walked through the school's hallways alone, thinking of anything that will possibly get her mind off summer camp. "Ellie, wait up! I need to talk to you" Jacob shouted acroos the hallway. He was running towards her but she kept on walking. "Ellie, you was right about what you said last night" He stated, hoping she'll smile at him and give him a hug. Instead she said "Good". "What's your problem? This morning you didn't come upto me like you normally do or even came and walked with me to my locker at lunch. Is something wrong, between us?" "Jacob, is that all you ever think about! Us? There is no us, there was never an Ellie and Jacob! It was always Ellie, Jacob and Kathleen. There was never an us Jacob" Ellie stated, she walked away from him and started to walk home. Jacob stood in the same spot watching Ellie cross the street, he walked back to his locker and gather up his stuff. "I heard what happened today between you and Ellie. I guess you guys broken up because she is going to summer camp this summer. You've got to be totally bummed out" Kathleen stated, as they waited for their ice cream cones. "She said there was no us, wait what are you talking about anyhow? She isn't going to summer camp . . . . .so that is what she was trying to tell me yesterday" Jacob realized. "So you guys weren't going out after all. But yeah, her mom is sending out to Camp Ralph & Rose Hittman for 2 whole weeks. You know how much Mrs. Johansen loves that toothpaste commerical guy with his "gender" problems" Kathleen joked. Jacob and Kathleen was at the local beach walking across the boardwalk which was full with people, Jacob looked to his right to see if Ellie was there slurping her Coco Cola, but all he saw was a little boy holding his mother hands licking his Strawberry Nut ice cream away as if it was his last ice cream he'll ever have again before the world comes to an end. Kathleen and Jacob stopped midway between the boardwalk to get the good view of the fisherman fishing for fish, only hoping that he'll fall in the water again after he felt a tug on his fishing line when it was really one of those rotten kids who always tricks him. When he did fall, niether one of them laugh because they didn't hear the sweet laughter of Ellie.

"Ellie Johansen and Janelle Fillips, you will be going to bunk Cherokee," said the Counselor . "Uh, Rebecca I'll need you to bring Ms. Johansen back to me, I need to talk to her" he said, nodding his head in agreement. "Yes Jack" Rebecca responded. Ellie tugged on her suitcase as she tugged it on the curved road. The ride from New York City to Upstate New York didn't seem too long to Ellie, only 3 hours. The place was like an old Indian tribe ground, the lake was large and had certain areas where the children can swim. There was about 10 bunks, the boys and girls were separated. The girls' bunks were on the grounds while the boys' bunks were in the hills. It was nice and cool, the sun beamed nicely down at the lake and the trees surround the camp like it was protecting them danger. "This is where your bunk is, Cherokee" Rebecca beamed. "Rebbecca, do you mind if I call you Becky? Anyways, do you guys have computers here?" "Yeah, they computers are in the hills. Sure, you can all me Becky but don't worry about the hills it's not like moutains and stones it's just a lot of tree trunks and tree branches not to mention lots of dirt" Rebecca stated, her beaming happiness fading away. "Thanks Becky". Ellie walked in and saw the other girls laughing and brushing their hair. "You must be our new camper, I'm Jasmine" she said, holding out her hand. "Ellie. Ellie Johansen" she responded, shaking her hand. Ellie sat down on the lower bunk bed in the back by the cabinets and the windows. "Josiah is so cute, too bad he isn't paying attention none of the girls here" one of the campers said. The campers were outside for break time, some where playing marbles and others were discovering nature or just talking. Ellie was sitting on the rock, she brought her drawing notebook with her. As she was flipping through the notebook she stopped at a drawing of Jaocb, with a laughing smile on his face. She smiled at the picture remembering the three of them sitting on docks at the beach laughing at the people who pass by, sometimes they'll go over to Coney Island and watch people try to win items but loss no matter how hard the try. "You drew that?" a boy asked, sitting next to her. "Yeah, that's my boy--guy friend" Ellie said, remembering what she said to Jacob. "Your a really good artist, I can't draw like that but I can draw" He beamed. Ellie didn't rsponded this time, instead she pondered over the fact about how everyone in this camp always beaming down at each other. Wasn't there any drama? "What's your name?" the boy asked. "Ellie Johansen. How about you?" "Joisah Perish"He said, squinting his eyes as he looked across the lake in the distance. Ellie suddenly beamed back at him but then it quickly disappered as she realize what she had done. The girls from her bunk we're sitting on the bench by the valley where they were watching and whispering at each other glaring at Ellie and Joisah. Ellie gets up and walked into the bunk, she needed some luaghter to fill her blood vains and the only person who can do that was Kathleen.

E-Mail Conversation:
EllieChic: Hey Kat, how's it going over there . . . . .in New York?
[KittyKat logs on]
KittyKat: Nothing much really. It's just a borning summer without you, I'm glad you e-mailed us but I wasn't expecting you to e-mail us on the first day this fast just into 5 hours!
EllieChic: Doesn't seem like I care??I'm not even allowed to bring electronics but my counselor said it's okay mainly because I told her I need to e-mail my mom which is partly true, but I also wanted to keep in touch with you guys.
KittyKat: I thought you will be the new and improve Ellie Johansen! But I see you'll be returning as the trashy mouted Ellie.
EllieChic: I can't beileve you'll even think that!
KittyKat: Moving on, the t tempture is high in New York! Jacob and I were trying to cool off with some ice cream by the boardwalk but that didn't work out one bit, so now we're in this large cooling tent that my mom set up for us and it's cool in here otherwise. We also have tons of ice cream in the freezer. Jacob and I are also thinking about sleeping here since there is two beds in here. So did you met a cute boy yet or were they any after all?
EllieChic: I see you guys are going up to summer expectations without me so far but I not too bummed out about it anyhow. On the other hand, I have met a cute boy his name is Joisah and his pretty cool but I think he is vry intrested in me that much. I wouldn't expect anyhow, he even saw the portrait I drew of . . . . .uh, just forget it.
KittyKat: Jacob?
EllieChic: What are you talking you about?
KittyKat: He saw the portrait of Jacob he drew last summer!
EllieChic: Damn you are so good at letting me spilled out my secrets, but I can never do that with you.
KittyKat: Yeah. It's amazing isn't it?
EllieChic: Awkward
KittyKat: Yeah, well I got to go and head out to Lamb's lame house party. He is having the lame house party way too early, it's way better when it's at night. Ah, good memories, good memories. . . . . .
EllieChic: Thanks for rubbing it Kat!

Stephanie swung her foot as she was silently grunting in pain. Her stomach had a black and blue bruised brushed against her stomach and her lower lip was busted. She could remember everything that just happen, only a half hour ago. She just came back in from a night of shopping with her friends. Her mother was sitting at the table witha large bottle of Vodka on the table next to her, half empty. When she came in, her mother was staring dead at her, slowly getting up from her chair, "Close that door" she said in low drunken voice. Stephanie gulped and shut the door but her hand was still clasped onto the doorknob. She staggered up to Stephanie, "Where have you been? You left me here in this house all alone" Her mother said. The heavy smell of alcohol felt like it was suffocating Stephanie, her mother run her index finger softly across Stephanie's smooth porcelain skin "My little girl is growing up, growing up so fast," she said in a sweet voice. "But that doesn't give you the right to hang out with those donwright dirty girls and boys out there. You suppose to be here with your mother not with those bums out there who doesn't care about you not even if you fall into a pit of cement and become a sidewalk!" Her mother suddenly shouted. Her mother began throwing punches and kicks screaming and cursing. "You like all those other bums out there who think they got everything. . . . ." her mother stated murmuring curse words. Stephanie walked to the bathroom mirror and search for a compass, once she found the math tool she removed the pencil, then she took the sharp edge and cut her arm close by the wrist. She watched the pure blood drip into the sink in heavy plops. She wiped the blood away and put rubbing alochol to soothe the cut. She went into her bed, she knew her father had already came home and her mother was asleep probably with another bottle of alcohol by her side. Next door, in the guest bedroom, Stephanie can here the noise coming from there. No one is ever in that room, ever since she lost her grandfather, the only person who could've been there was her father and a lady friend.

KittyKat: I can't beileve you move on that fast! But are you really over Jacob?
EllieChic: It's not like I have strong feelings for him, just feelings, you know
KittyKat: So what you're trying to say is that your in a basic love triangle?
EllieChic: How I'm I suppose to know! Aren't you the one who get me through my social awkwardness and parental issues, now you're dealing with my love problems! It's unbeileveable
KittyKat: Actually, no, I'm not the one you should go to. You should go to Charlie Bartlett!
EllieChic: Kat, Charlie Bartlett is a fictional character.
KittyKat: I know that, can't a be just a bit sarcastic!
EllieChic: Later on in life when we don't have to deal with problems like this.
Kitty Kat: Look Ellie, if you have feelings for both of them then you need to find out which one you're more in love with, you're best guy friend or the cute camper boy you've met only 4 days ago.

Part One: E-Mail Conversations & Things We Forgotten

The sun peeked through the dirty glass window and reflected off of the wooden table, shining into Ellie's eyes. Putting her hands in front of her eyes she saw Jacob coming down the hallway, his bobbing to the music coming from his iPod. Ellie got up from the chair and went behind the single file of students coming out of Science class. "Hey Jacob," she said, tapping him lightly on the shoulders. Her bookbag was slung across her shoulders, and her hair was just the way she wanted it nice and neat. "Can you beileve that summer is already here! I can smell the burning rubber from the water balloons that is filling up my nostrils" Ellie continued, grining happily. Jacob liked Ellie's smile it was the sweet and inoccent smile when he knew that Ellie had the reckless smile when she always think of spending the summer with her friends. "Just the same old Ellie Johansen I've known" Jacob said, opening his locker door taking out his math notebook. "I hate when you do that the whole end-of-the-sumer lecture, it is time for some new trends, it's about time isn't?" Ellie said kicking her feet up against the wall with her back leaning against the locker doors. "I don't think it's about time to change, it is not even New Year's Eve yet!" Jacob answered back. "It's our New Year's Eve" Ellie claimed. Kathleen came around the hallway with a stack of paper in her hands. "Kat, where you going?" Ellie called after her. "Sorry,I've got to go . . . .the popualrs made me do their science project or else they would dunk my head into Mr. Dibbs spitoon!" Kathleen said. Ellie watched her speed of into the cafeteria and give the dumb populars their science project neatly filed. "Jacob, don't you think that we should at least tell the populars to back off of Kat, they think of her as their little decoy or something" Ellie said, peeling back her tangerine. "So they can dunk our heads into toilets where human waste is displace?" Jacob stated, proving his point very well. "You just ruin my appetite for this tangerine, a matter of fact, for my entire lunch" Ellie pushed her lunch away from her in disgust. Jacob tried not to look Ellie in the face because of what happened the last time, he was staring into Ellie's eyes and Kathleen noticed he had a thing for Ellie and she blurted it out to Ellie but she didn't beileve her anyhow. But they were alone, in Ellie's room where they usually go for their lunch and free period.

Ellie thought that Jacob was cute after all but she rather keep it quiet since they are other girls in the school who drool over him, at these times Ellie pretends to be disgusted by them but really she wants to fight back. Soon they heard Kathleen coming up the stairs with her lunch in her hand. She was wearing her regular blue jeans and short white long sleeve with her dark wispy curls in a ponytail as if she was a hot local farmer's daughter who only milks cows. "Sorry I'm late, I hope you guys weren't doing anything when I was gone" Kathleen hinted, winking flirtiously. "Okay, whatever you're talking about I just don't want to here what is going on between you two" Ellie laughed. "There is nothing going on between us!" Jacob and Kathleen said in unison. "I was joking you guys, we're here to discuss our summer vacation plans" Ellie stated, shaking her summer notebook. Jacob and Kathleen sat beside her on the bed, with their heads lean against the wall lazily. Jacob peeked over Ellie's shoulder inhaling her favorite perfume deeply. "I don't know Ellie, what if you're Mom comes up with a summer plan already in store for you. . . .but not for us?" Kathleen questioned. "My mom don't plan summer plans without me knowing, she doesn't do plans, she lets me plan my summer vacation" Ellie stated. "I have an idea, how about this summer we'll try to get our first kiss" Jacob said. Kathleen smiled and Ellie bite her eraser "I like that idea Jacob" Ellie smiled. Soon ideas were jotted down and they choose the one they were going to do this summer. "We've got to head back to school, it's almost last period" Kathleen said, getting up from the bed and already down the stairs, then out of the door. Ellie and Jacob stayed behind and cleaned up everything. "Thanks for helping me Jacob. I was thinking maybe you want to stay over tonight for dinner with my family?" Ellie asked. "Uh, sorry Ellie I've got help my Mom out tonight with dinner. My Dad isn't going to make it tonight anyhow, it's snowing in Tulsa" Jacob said. "It's okay, lets just get to school" Ellie said, grabbing up bookbag. Jacob gave her a peck on the cheek and quickly went down the stairs.
Ellie smiled and walked behind him.

Ellie walked home the same day leaving Jacob on the bus, she didn't feel like sitting next to him and talk about the things that no one could ever understand. she thought it was sweet when Jacob gave her that kiss on her cheek and walked away instead of seeing her reaction. But she didn't care for the kiss on the cheek. "Mom,I'm home" Ellie said, shuffling across the carpet looking like the female version of Ozzy Osbourne. "Hey Ellie, I have to talk to you" her mom responded. Ellie plopped down on one of the couches and stared at her mother feeling the need to gnaw on her fingernails. "Honey, I know you always hang out with Jacob and Kathleen every summer," Ellie rolled her eyes in disgust as she heard the word "Jacob" rolled against her mother's tounge and then came out of her plump ruby red lips. "So, I decide to send you to camp. . . .Ellie, are you listening?" her mother said. Ellie snapped out of her daydream and was fully listening to her mother, "Sorry Mom, so what were saying now?" Ellie asked. "I said you are going to camp, Camp Ralph & Rose Hittman" her mother stated with a stern look on her face. "You can't do this to me, you know that I always spend the summer with Kat and Jacob. You're only sending me to camp because you want some alone time with freaking toothpaste guy, besides he got problems with his--" "What your mouth young lady! I've told you already about that trashy mouth of yours" her mother shouted, sticking her finger in Ellie's face. "Whatever you say mom, I'll pack my stuff" Ellie said. When he mother turned her back, Ellie crossed her arms across her chest and mouthed the F word at her, then stomped off into her bedroom and slammed the door shut. She wasn't packing at all, she was silently crying and silently venting.

E-Mail Conversation:
EllieChic: Hey Jacob, I'm sorry for leaving you on the bus this evening. I just didn't felt like talking about crap.
DJJacob: It's alright, besides I was talking to Stephanie Cornell this evening on the bus. . . . .she seems really sweet.
EllieChic: Oh. . . .that's great, you guys will probably be seeing more of each other!
DJJacob: What are talking about Ellie. . . .is this about the kiss, we had at free period?
EllieChic: No Jacob! You know what, just forget it I'm logging off.

[EllieChic logs on]
EllieChic: Hey Kat
KittyKat: Wow, only two words?!?!?! I wouldn't except that from Ellie Johansen the GREAT.
EllieChic: *Laughing* You can always brighten up day Kat.
KittyKat: I know, I'm like Little Miss. Sunshine around you guys, then I'm like total Little Miss. Decoy or something. There is two sides of me Ellie, the one who always brighten up peoples day and the other is the one everyone in school knows about, the decoy. If the brighter side of me wouldn't just hide underneath the decoy then everyone would know the real Kathleen Riverbed. I wish we lived in a world where the was only normal human beings, where evryone could reconcile everyone's difference.
EllieChic: Wow. . .Kat I never knew you can be this deep. How come you couldn't write your poem like that, instead of 'Oh how the tables has turned"?
KittyKat: Ellie, your always making fun of someone, but I like it when you make fun of me though.
EllieChic: Kat? Can I ask you a question?
KittyKat: Shoot!
EllieChic: How come you never talk about your parents? Don't you have parental issues?
KittyKat: Ellie, I don't want to talk about this. Besides, I've got to go and . . . . . eat some jellybeans.
[KittyKat logs off]
EllieChic: Eat some jellybeans?!?! You can't be serious Kat? Kat? Kat? UGH!

Stephanie sat on her window sill, her laptop perched on top of her neatly shaven tanned legs. She waited for anyone to appear online of her e-mailing list but suddenly her Sidekick LX began vibrating, she picked up the phone and looked at the number. It was a number she never heard or even had listed onto her phone but she still picked it up. "Hello, Stephanie Cornell here" she said, in her best flirty voice. "Hey Stephanie, it's me Jacob" He stated. Jacob sounded nerveous as if he witness a murder. "Oh Jacob, how are you?" Stephanie questioned, her voice sounding flat. "I'm fine I was thinking about--" "You know what Jacob, I would really love it if you e-mail me, it's much more better" Stephanie interrupted. "Uh, sure we can chat over e-mail". He hanged up the phone and he suddenly appeared on her list.

DJJacob: Hi Stephanie, again.
Miss.StephanieCornell: Hi Jacob, do you know I love fashion?
DJJacob: No, but I was hoping we can talk about what I was talking about on the phone.
Miss.StephanieCornell: My all-time favorite band Metro Station!
DJJacob: Yeah, that sure is intresting Stephanie. But were aren't talking about you.
Miss.StephanieCornell: Almost everyday, after school, I always go onto YouTube just to read this story called " A Jonas Romance" by this girl named Jenna. She is such a great author.
DJJacob: Stephanie can we just please get back to the shorten talk we had on the phone?
Miss.StephanieCornell: Yeah, sure, whatever.
DJJacob: Thank You, I was wondering do you want eat lunch with Ellie, Kat, and I?
Miss.StephanieCornell: Are you freaking serious?!?! *Laughing* that is a good one Jacob. You eased my hunger just now with that joke.
DJJacob: It wasn't a joke Stephanie.
Miss.StephanieCornell: You're like all the pathetic losers I met on the bus before, you losers always fall my trap with a guy they think I want to date them, for a girl they think I want to be their friend. Don't you understand we come from different places, loser! Didn't you see tht I was using you, for a hour and half you were my little decoy, I ruffled your "luscious" short curly hair and made you blushed and got you away from your iPod. But you wouldn't even done that if it was Ellie Johansen wouldn't you? Adios, loser!
[Miss.StephanieCornell logs off]
DJJacob: I guess I was wrong about you after all.
[DJJacob logs off]

Ellie slowly peeled off her clothes while waiting for the water to get hot as she went to take a shower. Her eyes were red and puffy as if she aten something she was allgeric to. Her eyes were burning her from crying so much about going to camp, she tried to think of the brighter side of things about going to camp. But nothing was bright about going to camp, she was planning to runaway but her mother would know where to find and telll the cops where to exactly find her, in one of the abandon houses across town. She loathed her mother for knowing her secret runaway places but she had already runaway before, when she was five years old. It wasn't exactly runing away because she was suffering with her mother, she just saw this boy and she was amazed by his yellow colored hair and wanted to see if he used a highlighter to make it yellow. So she followed him home, but soon she lost track of him and she thought he'll appear again if she hide one of the abandon houses. Soon, the police found her sitting the dark happily singing "Yellow Haired Boy". Ellie stepped into the shower and let the hot water pound against her face and let the water run down her body, going into the drain. "Ellie, I bought you some Strawberry PopTart and a glass of milk, since you didn't come out to eat dinner. I'll leave it in front of your door, goodnight" her mother said, outside of the door. Ellie heard her mom weep softly but she didn't care about the pain she gave to her mother. but it wasn't only her anyhow, it was her father too. For leaving them her just because he had some "business work" to do. Ellie knew he wasn't going away for business work, he was going back to his ex-wife, to live with her in Georgia. Ellie was shivering since the heat hasn't come up yet, but she closed eyes and shortly after, she fell asleep forgetting about the treat left outside of her bedroom door.

About The Story

Chanel here, with a brand new story. This story actually inspired me by listening to this song called "Elephant As Big As Whales" [I know it is a strange title] by PlayRadioPlay! and in my Social Studies and English class I've been learning about the Holocaust, since we're reading the Diary of Anne Frank. So I deleted the other two because I felt it was bringing me back to The Things They Don;t Tell You and I wanted to get away from that. So while sitting on the computer, on YouTube watching The Outsiders verison of "Elephants As Big As Whales" and I just like the bright light bulb in my head, but this wasn't the first time the "light bulb went off". It has been going off lately when I'm on the school bus listening to my iPod, but it wasn't so much about the characters or plot of the story, it was more of the structure of the chapters making it different from the other story. Just a few creative ideas, that is all. So here is something you need to know about Two Different Roads.

Characters

Ellie Johansen: the free-spirted girl who doesn't let anyone on her case and aslo the one known for a trashy mouth which she has to watch around people. But one she is seperated from her two best friends, she is unsure about everything in the world. Feeling like she already loosing her personailty without her friends, she is going to return home with big emotional ride when secrets are revealed.

But Kathleen has been hiding secrets of her own, she beileves she can't confide in anyone even her own parents. But when the table turns, Kathleen begins to totter trying to keep everything uderwraps, but how longer can she keep there?

Theme Song: "I'm Pretty Pressimistic, for a Optimistic"- Paramore

But he even found out his love for Ellie, until she left to go to camp for the summer. When she comes back she isn't really isn't the same Ellie he has known since his middle school career. But is it just him or is it just her who is really changing?

Theme Song: "Drivin' Me Wild"- Common + Lily Allen
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stephanie Cornell: the popular girl of the school, the one who has her very own special decoy. But by night Stephanie isn't anything from popular instead of suffering with choosing between a Sidekick and the new collection of Louis Vuitton bags, she suffers more with her Mom's alcoholic problems at home and her Dad coming home every night with different woman. But what happens when your mother sent you to summer camp for 2 weeks and when you return back home again you felt as if you world as been spun around until everything turned crazy adn unbeileveable as well as people who made fun of you for almost your enitre life comes around and wants your help. It is all too much to handle for Ellie Johansen and on top of that she has deals with love on her hand.

  • Kathleen Riverbed. The 13 year old who is pretty pessimistic, for an optimistic and the one who is the geeky/SoHo/artist. Nothing else can't possibly get worst? Can it? Yes, it can get worse.

  • Jacob Mason. The 13 year old boy out of the whole entire group. Even though he is known as the peacemaker, he doesn't realize that he isn't looking through the mirror anymore and realizing the changes in him. When he realizes that he is digonsed with Type 1 diabetes, he tries to keep on living but when he realizes his love for Ellie there is nothing but to confess everything to her, even the ones she might not even want to here.

  • Stephanie Cornell. The 13 year old popular student who seems like she has the perfect life. But nobody's perfect, even Stephanie. By night, she is Stephanie Cornell: daughter of alocholic mother and a father who comes home with other woman in the night. When she isn't hanging with her popular friends, she is with Ellie, Kathleen and Jacob trying to figure out things in their life.
